California Proposal

Guess what my peeps? Read this article. Right there. On the 'this' word. Then come back. Please. You don't have to I guess but it would be nice. Here are a few more in case you want more information.
And before I go any further I would like to say that yes, I understand that this will very most likely not pass. But how is this kind of thing even acceptable to get this far?
Anyway. As to my opinion on this piece of news. I don't even know where to start. I am honestly having a bit of a hard time trying to even wrap my head around it.
Let's just start with the title. "California Tries To Block Proposal That Would Legalize Shooting Gay People". Wow. That's just about all I can think of to sum that up. The title basically tells the whole story. An attorney, whether just 'trolling' (as one news article speculates he might be) or being serious, has purposed legalizing the murder of gay people. Is he just doing it to try and change the way laws can be made in California? Maybe. But why would he ever even consider going that way to do so. If that is what he was trying to accomplish, instead of threatening people's lives, why not make a proposal that was stupid, but not actually harmful to people. No one knows why he did it, he has yet to give anyone any comment on the subject, so we will continue to be left in the dark about his reasoning.
Three hundred, sixty five thousand, eight hundred and eighty-eight. That is the number of signatures it would take for the proposal to be taken to the ballots. There are currently approximately 38.8 million people in California. Statistically, it would not be hard to get enough signatures. Hopefully, common sense won't leave three hundred, sixty five thousand, eight hundred and eighty eight people. Hopefully.
Luckily, every single person that signs this horrifying proposal, will let anyone that cares about looking through random things like proposals to legalize mass murder of innocent people (genocide, if you will), see that they signed it. That's right my friends, once someone signs it, their name is officially on it forever as a human being that is all for murdering gays. How about that. I personally love all the things people can do with internet nowadays, including finding out who attempted murderers are.

10 year old boy

I first found this post on tumblr so it took a while for me to find it on the interwebs. But here it is. Go to that link for me. Click on that nice little tiny picture there. Did you click it?
Do you know what I'm upset about yet?
No?
Let me explain. That ten year old child was murdered. As of yet it is unknown who by. My question is. Why? Why on this green and blue circular planet we live on, did the news station feel the need to report on the story with that picture? Of a ten year old. With blurred out fingers. Why would they do that? What are they trying to show? Are they trying to instigate that he was in some way a bad kid? Let's just say I haven't done my research, and I thought that the cute little ten year old boy was in fact holding up his middle fingers. Why would the media use that picture? That boy was most definitely loved by his family. There were most definitely better, more loving pictures to show of him. So why that one?
But, since, I have done my homework (not actual literal schoolwork of course, don't be silly) I have found out that it wasn't even his middle fingers being held up. Don't believe me? Here's a picture, without his hands blurred out. DONT FORGET TO ADD PIC

(I am very sorry I do not have a link to go with this, but I feel the photo in itself should be significant enough proof)

Indiana's 'Religious Law'

You've all heard of Indiana's law by now right? Right? You know, the one where it made it legal to discriminate again? The one Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, and less note able people, such as myself and the majority of the whole entire United States of America talk about with disgust? I hope so. If you have not heard about it, well my poor dear child, there is a chance you have your head up your booty and don't pay attention to news. But never fear sweet child of mine, there are many people in the same boat. And since I love you and want you to be informed here is a link that will describe to you, a fairly sufficient amount of what this law entitles.
What this law is doing, is basically making it legal to refuse service to people based on their sexuality. My honest reaction to this would be probably about twenty question marks in a row, but since people might not understand the point I would be trying to get across, you are are going to have to imagine me looking as confused and disgusted as a human can possibly look.
Why would it ever be a good idea to legalize discrimination? I' pretty sure progress means going the other way. You know. Like making it illegal to discriminate. To actually once again try (and very likely fail but try nonetheless because you have to start somewhere) to meet the standards of equality that the United States of America supposedly offers.
When looking up this ridiculous new law I stumbled across this. Check it out. Watch the little video at the bottom. Because I think it's beautiful, and way more forgiving and hopefully than i could really be about this subject.

Transgender

So I found this news article when scrolling through cnn looking for something to write about. I chose it because the LGBT+ community is something I very strongly support for quite a few reasons. The article is about a child, born as a female, but whom is truly a male.
The thing especially like about this article is that it does not continually misgender Ryland. It gives him the correct pronouns, which although should be a very simple task many other news articles reporting on transgender seem to not be able to manage it. Especially with famous people. Like Angelina Jolie's SON. Yes. Capital letters since it seems very hard for people to understand. Her son. Who's name is now John. Although this article is talking about how parents need to support their children when they are figuring out if they were born with the correct gender or not, I think it goes in a completely horribly wrong direction of doing so. Especially when, through the whole article, they call John a girl and give him she/her pronouns.
And a shout out to Leelah Alcorn's parents. For being so hateful towards their beautiful daughter that she felt the need to commit suicide. And then continued to be hateful and misgender her even in death. Which to me, is just about the lowest of the low and is completely unfathomable.

Galavant

Have you heard of Galavant already? It's a wonderful mini series musical TV show that you should most definitely watch. What's so great about it? Why there are so many things I could probably fill a whole blog post just talking about them. In fact, that's exactly just what I'll do.
One of the main reasons as to why its so wonderful is the fact that its a musical TV show. Let me run that by you again. It's a TV show, that everyone sings in, for no apparent reason whatsoever. What part of that sentence is not one of the most loveliest things you've ever heard? None of it. Exactly. Who doesn't love a witty musical number with fancy and funny dance moves, with generally some backup singers or duets thrown in the mix? No one.
Another reason as to why it's wonderful, is because it tends to go against every cliché possible. You'll think you know exactly what's going to happen because you've seen situations like the one you're watching thousands of times when WHAM BAM you get thrown right off your couch by the unexpected turn of events.
Adding to the growing list of awesome things going for this TV show, is that every character has some serious flaws. Even the good guys. And by serious I mean like major, gaping, ugly flaws. For example, Galavant, the main 'good guy' and well-respected knight, is a complete drunk. What does he do when he gets dumped by his girl? Drinks his problems away for about a year, and lives in denial about how horrible of a person his girl really is.
And, if all of that wasn't enough, threes also the amazing actors that are in the TV show. My personal favorite actor in this show is Timothy Omundson, whom I know from one of my other favorite TV shows, Psych. He has incredible talent and is always fun to watch. In fact, the whole cast has quite the set of skills, from Joshua Sasse (Galavant), to Karen David (Isabella), to even Weird Al Yankovic, whom of which shows up as a confessional Monk. Awesome right? Hella.
The witty, sometimes cruel banter between characters also has a way of keeping you on your toes and entertained. How so? Well lets just say that every unexpected line will either leave you rolling on the floor laughing, or sitting in shock.
Overall I would very highly recommend this TV show for anyone that is looking for something fun to watch when avoiding life responsibilities, or what ever else. There's many places to watch it online, my favorite being couchtuner.com since its has many different options of players to use. Well what are you waiting for? (Unless you're in class reading this instead of writing a blog) Go watch it!

Handmade Projects

Do It Yourself projects, or DIYs, have been really common and popular on Pinterest, I believe, ever since the site was first made. But why is that, you may ask? Well it's simple.
The first reason for them being popular is because they are usually cheaper to make then to go on Etsy and buy. Although the ones sold there always seem to be so much cuter and better done then my own. Like these for example:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/194880908/no-tangle-crochet-earphones?ref=sr_gallery_30&ga_search_query=cute+earphones&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_ref=related&ga_page=1&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery
The second reason is that they are fun to make, whether it be by yourself or with some friends. Like when you were little and made those huge beaded bracelets. Except now, you make them with much smaller beads that are practically impossible to put on the band and end up falling on the floor and getting lost for all eternity because you know even without looking that you will never find them all.
Thirdly is that they can be as big or as small of a project as you want. If you are looking for something huge that will keep you occupied for a month or so you can find some sort of workshop one. Or if you just want a small five minute one, they have those too. I've seen ones where all you do is get a stencil and spray paint some designs onto old furniture.
DIYs also make it fun to spice up your old stuff. Having a hard time trying to rock those boring old headphones but don't want to go buy those cool expensive ones that you know will break within the month? No need! Change it up with some yarn.
Its an easy way to show off those mad skillz you didn't even know you were hiding.
And my favorite part (and probably the part that I use most often) is that if you try, try, and try again and you still just have absolutely no idea how to make it look like it's supposed to, it's no biggie if you give up. Those earphones are still hella cute even though they are halfway done. So when reality hits you hard in the face and your expectations aren't met, just take a pic so you can laugh at it later, eat those delicious looking cookies, and move on.

The Sprouse Brothers

The Sprouse bros are pretty amazing people. Why do I say that? What have they done in their life that causes me to give them that well deserved title? Sit back and relax my friends, because I'm about to blow your socks off.
One of the biggest, if not the sole reason, as to why the Sprouse brothers are known, is because of their childhood acting careers on the Sweet Life of Zack and Cody. Which is a well known kids show about two twins that run around wrecking havoc in the hotel that they live in. Frustrating the manager and everyone else there. Then when the get older they go on a cruise ship with all of their friends from the hotel and call that show the Sweet Life On Deck. That show also consists of them running around causing mayhem. Those shows were a large part of mine, and presumably many other children's childhoods, seeing as how we've been growing up right along side them. It was sad to see them go from Disney.
However, that isn't the only reason as to why they are pretty amazing. Nope, that's right, the story doesn't end there. They are also pretty popular on twitter, especially after the nudes leak of Dylan Sprouse, with his response being "At least you can't see my third testicle." They tweet fans back, with witty and funny responses, and when they get stopped by fans in public they are also reported as being hilarious and friendly. Which is awesome because some stars aren't always receptive towards their fans.
And surprisingly enough, they even had acting careers before playing Zack and Cody. That's right people, even as baby's they were stars, being in diaper commercials and even acting as Ben Geller in Friends. How cool is that?
Where are they now? Unlike a lot of well known actors, they have enrolled in college at New York University (Not saying it's a bad thing to not go to college by any means, trust me I have no right to judge). Dylan is focusing on Video Game design, and Cole is studying humanities and archaeology.
So whilst they aren't quite the most talked about in the movie star news lately seeing as how they are busy learning and studying away to get their degrees, they are still two amazing actors and people that are pretty all around cool people.

Ellen Degeneres

Ellen DeGeneres. Need I really say more? No. Trust me I know. But I shall say more anyways. Because this is my job. Kind of.
Ellen DeGeneres. More like Ellen thee Generous. Am I right? Of course I am! Do you know how much she helps people out? Not only just financially, but inspirationally, and motivationally too. (wow that's a lot of -allys)
She isn't quite Oprah with handing out financial help (But who really is? (besides Oprah herself of course.)), but she has helped a lot of people in need out. The main type of people I hear her giving money to are students, for doing some magnificent yet unappreciated thing or other. However she has given out a lot of things for no reason other then someone being a fan. How cool is that? What? I didn't hear you. Super you say? Right on.
She gives inspiration to a lot of homosexual people. She's proof that things could get better. That, although it's hard and kind of scary to come out and be openly homosexual, it'll be alright in the end. because the people that love you will accept you. And the people that don't aren't worth your time.
She's also very motivationally through a lot of things she says and does. One of the things being through Finding Nemo. With her key phrase being "Just keep swimming" it's hard to not look to her for a bit of motivation.
I personally have also never heard of her putting another person down. This is not me saying that she never has, just that there has never been a huge scandal that I've heard of, of her bashing someone. Which proves even more just how great, and accepting of a person she is.
Ellen is pretty well known for being hilarious as well. On her show she'll go through her audiences, and even sometimes her staff members Facebook pictures, just to get the background story of their wacky pics. Her whole aura tends to be humorous in some way or another. From the times where she puts herself in other movies to her everyday reactions to things that happen during her show, it's not difficult to take an immediate liking towards her.
Ellen is always entertaining and even uplifting. She gives a helping hand to the people that watch her without always being consciously aware of it. And that's what makes her so special.

Bob's Burgers

Bob's burgers is a super cool adult swim type show. But it's really nothing like other shows like the Simpsons or Family Guy or American Dad. Do you want to know the things that set it apart from other shows? Good. I shall tell you. This is probably why you're here. Maybe.
My biggest reason for saying it's set apart from other shows, is by way of its humor. Sure it's still the weird, sometimes sexualized humor you expect to get from adult swim, but it's never hurtful. They never make fun of someone for being who they are. Generally, the jokes are universally made, so everyone would think they are funny, instead of just poking fun at a few characters.
Another reason as to why I personally really like Bob's Burgers is because Bob's family all accept each other. Even though every single one of them are extraordinarily weird for their own different reasons, they all love each other. Excluding Louise, they are all almost always ready to support each other no matter what.
An added bonus is that some of the humor can be easily related to. Especially with Tina, the teenage girl. For example, in one episode, she spent a good amount of time just lying on the floor and groaning because she was having a pretty crappy day. I can honestly say that there have been days where I've kind of wanted to do that. And that's the main difference between other people and Tina. Other people usually don't act upon the random urges they get, unlike Tina, who's never afraid to be herself and do what she wants.
You still need another reason? How about I give you one you can't resist? eh, eh? Well, I guess you might be able to resist it. I you don't like a few musical numbers! That's right folks. Musical. Numbers. Every once in a while the family will have a cool song and maybe dance thrown in there. And who doesn't love those? I know I do. Music makes the world go round people.
Although it is on adult swim now, it originated with Fox Family. But don't let that fool you. It's definitely a must watch.
It's been going for five seasons now, and has been confirmed for a sixth as of January 8th. Although it might take a few episodes before you really get into to, I personally think Bob's Burgers is a wonderful show that more people should watch. It provides harmless entertainment that is still funny after being watched several times over.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is awesome. Hands down. Period. The end.
Well maybe not the end. You might need some convincing. Well it's your lucky day because I'm going to tell you exactly why Taylor Swift should be someone you look up to.
First and foremost. She has recently become an out spoken feminist. Do you know how cool that is? Women cop a lot of crap all the time for being feminists, when really, all we're asking for are equal rights. But that's another blog post. All I'm saying, is that Taylor Swift is publicly standing up for women. And it's pretty hella awesome. I did use the word recently. That's because, if you have ever listened to some of her older songs, they weren't exactly the nicest to her exes new girlfriends. But that's what makes her even cooler. She's like a real life example of character development. She speaks out against women being mean to women now. She used to not want to be associated with the word feminism at all. But then she learned what it really is, and she changed. What's that mean? You got it. It means she's amazing.
Second off. She's done taking crap from the media. Shown by her 25th birthday tweet:

That's right people. She's not dating anyone. She has statement several times that she is happily single and yet people still refuse to stop trying to lump her with every guy she takes a picture with. In fact her love life has been a pretty popular topic for quite a while now, even though, her personal life and therefore privacy shouldn't be violated the way it always seems to be. It's honestly getting ridiculous. And she's not afraid to say so either.
Thirdly. She's down to earth. People can relate to things she posts on social media. Like pictures of her adorable cat.
And as an added bonus; she's also on Tumblr. That's right. Tumblr. Possibly the best social media type site known to man in this day and age. It makes sense though, seeing as how Tumblr is largely made up of feminism and the LGBT community and such.
And I could go on. But I won't. Because that would feel a bit too obsessive. Anyways. Your take away should be: Taylor Swift is a role model for being able to change who she is for the better, and for letting that new person actually be herself.
